Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins speaks two languages and has been for a long time, starting at her age of nine. This ability allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories related to drug trafficking and immigration both at the Texas and Mexico borders, she served as a news reporter for both the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. They divorced soon thereafter and, in 1995, she was married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. Her residence was there in Canton Ohio with her older sister throughout the summer which was the time she received an opportunity to work. Antonietta was at the end of her senior year in high school and had a very clear vision of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University in order to determine if they suited her. It was discovered that she loved the campus and that the school offered the degree she was looking for. She graduated from high school and was accepted at the college with a major in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was participant in her class established a long-lasting relationship with her. His enthusiasm for journalism and the confidence she had in herself encouraged her. She, in turn, tried to meet his standards and not disappoint him.
